In this podcast I talk with Cristina about a study she conducted in 2018 to try to better understand how emotional intelligence and resilience could act as protective factors for aid workers working in the field, in front of the emotional and psychological risks they are exposed to as part of their job. She focused on aid workers in either international development or humanitarian assistance, where the placements are usually less permanent and the context harsher.
During this talk Cristina underlines how emotional intelligence is a set of abilities that can be learned and developed. We focus on the humanitarian aid and development sectors, but these reflections could be applied to all professional environments.
As always, I would be more than happy to hear any thought you might have and want to share.
