Lockdown day 1

I woke up at 8am in a good mood. Streets are empty but probably more because it’s Saturday and it’s 8.40 rather than because of coronavirus. Could be. My plan for this morning is to go to the supermarket, not because I am panicking and I want to prepare for the apocalypse but because I thought – let’s make a lasagna! It’s probably my favourite dish, however, as it requires around 3 hours to prepare, and it’s maybe 900 calories per portion, I don’t make it so often. While the ragu sauce is on the stove, I will read. Not sure which book I will start from, so many on the to read list!

Plan for the afternoon: go for a walk to digest the lasagna, call a friend in Italy, clean a bit the house (I can finally clean the tiles next to the shower!!!), get emotional at amazing initiatives starting online by people to connect and comfort others (watch Italians singing at their windows and balconies together with the neighbours all across the country, personally I cried from emotion) and then watch the TV show Chernobyl.

My enthusiasm will most probably fade after lockdown day 3, but for now, I see so many things I can and want to do at home! Stay strong everybody, and don’t spread the virus. #optimism #lifeatthetimeofcoronavirus #itsjustthebeginningoftheendoftheworld #Istayhome.
